The 500 Deskphone designed by Henry Dreyfuss was first introduced in 1949, this ever popular desk phone was available in basic "bell black". It was reintroduced in 1954 in a varierty of shades gaining popularity as it became a decorative household item becoming the most commonly used desk phone in the USA.
